We'd like you to meet:

David Carter

New to the Business Agent Burlington

An extroverted person caught in an introverted job is bound to break out at some point. So when David Carter's boss at his real estate appraisal office invited David to join him in real estate licensing classes, David went along, and never looked back.

"I love getting in front of people, and soon realized my work in real estate was going to be a full-time passion."

Attracted by the strength of the Allen Tate brand, David found the company culture to be a good fit for the way he wanted to do business. And he felt the high-performers at the Burlington office made it the right place for him as a new agent.

He takes full advantage of all Allen Tate online class opportunities and marketing tools, such as Testimonial Tree and the company's dynamic website. "For instance," he says, "how do you talk to a For Sale by Owner seller? When you're new, you just don't know. The resources and people at Allen Tate offer answers to those kinds of questions."

David also keeps his online profiles current. He spends time every week in social media - liking, engaging, offering encouragement - just reminding people who he is and what he does. Recently, during an open house, he posted a picture from the patio with the caption, "Hey, I'll be breakdancing on the patio. Come by and see me and this awesome home."

Every week, David sends emails to people that he meets at open houses, the coffee shop, etc. He sometimes even sends handwritten notecards, an appreciated gesture in the digital age.

As a lifetime resident of Alamance County, he loves the flexibility of working in a career that affords him more opportunities to "jump in," such as helping with a recent campaign to collect running pants for underserved elementary school students.

"As long as you are involved in high-gain activities, your goals will come to you. When you meet someone, just continue to connect."
