We'd like you to meet:

Yolanda Austin

New to the Business Agent Easley/Powdersville

After pursuing her electrical engineering degree at Clemson University, Yolanda Austin stayed in the Upstate South Carolina area and in her major after graduation.

Years later, her son Barrett followed in her footsteps as an engineer in the U.S. military. He gave the ultimate sacrifice as a hero in 2013.

Seeking a change after losing her son, Yolanda had already used her tech skills to help her real estate agent friends, and thought that she might enjoy real estate. She was looking for a career to make people happier and herself, as well. She liked Allen Tate's leadership and what it stood for, and made the transition.

"There is encouragement and motivation," Yolanda continues, "but no pressure."

Thriving in her new career, she believes that the Allen Tate training program, Winners Edge and the company's coaching and accountability program, Tate Accelerate, have been key to her success.

"Education is key," she says. "You've got to know all about the business to be able to do it the right way. And that's what Allen Tate provides. Just because you have your real estate license doesn't mean you know what you need to know."

And Yolanda has found a way to use that new-found knowledge - helping buyers and sellers achieve their goals, at every phase of the homeownership lifecycle.

One audience that is particularly meaningful to her is first-time homebuyers.

"Many first-time buyers I work with are my son's age, and some have even known him. I've really enjoyed building relationships with them and seeing their excitement when they find the home that's just right for them."

"Real estate has been the right change for me and a way to help people that has a positive, lasting effect," she says. "It's been a good thing."
